Adobe Brings Creative, AI-Powered Express App to the Palm of Your Hand

Adobe has announced its new Adobe Express mobile app is available now to all users.

The Adobe Express app brings the company’s Firefly generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology into the hands of more content creators. It aims to help more people create fast and easy designs, social media posts, logos, images, and more.

“Adobe Express brings the magic of Firefly generative AI directly into web and mobile content creation experiences,” says Govind Balakrishnan, senior vice president, Adobe Express and Digital Media Services, Adobe. “We’re excited to see a record number of customers turning to Adobe Express to promote their ideas, passions and businesses through digital content and on TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook and other social platforms.”

It is worth taking a closer look at TikTok, as Adobe brought an AI-powered TikTok Creative Assistant feature into Express in February. The tool enables users to create and share TikTok content inside Adobe Express.

As for Adobe Express at large, the new mobile app “brings the power and precision of Adobe’s industry-leading photo, design, video and generative AI capabilities into an all-in-one content editor, giving everyone the ability to produce the highest quality content on web and mobile,” its creator says.

Express also plays nicely with Adobe’s other software solutions, including Illustrator and Photoshop. It’s possible to bring files from those apps directly into Express to add some creative finishing touches, even for users who aren’t very experienced in using Adobe software.

Regarding Firefly, Express leverages Adobe’s AI platform for features like Text to Image, Text Effects, Generative Fill, and Text to Template. It’s possible to type a prompt and get an image from inside Firefly. Unsurprisingly, this feature works using the cloud, so smartphone users will need an active data connection to take full advantage.

Other AI features include Animate from Audio, which animates a character’s mouth movements to match an audio source, and Caption Videos, which uses AI to automatically generate video captions.

Additionally, Adobe Express on mobile, which first launched as a beta app last month, supports video editing, has thousands of templates, access to Adobe Fonts and Adobe Stock, and allows for content scheduling on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and more.

The Adobe Express mobile app is completely free and works on most Android and iOS devices. For Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers, the app includes additional premium features and, as mentioned, integrates with numerous Adobe Creative Cloud apps.
