According to the British audio brand, the new CXA81 Mk II integrated stereo amplifier, upgrades the successful CXA81 design, and keeps Cambridge Audio in a leading position for home audio components that truly match today’s lifestyle.

Since making its first integrated amplifier in 1968, Cambridge has always looked for new ways to improve the listening experience – while recognizing that great sound never goes out of fashion. Further enhancing CXA81’s already acclaimed sonic performance, Cambridge’s engineers have re-tuned and greatly refined the sound for the CXA81 Mk II – in the process introducing ten new premium components to the circuitry and improving the signal path. The result is even greater clarity and musicality.

The classic combination of Class AB amplification and a chunky toroidal transformer offers superb musical detail with power to drive even demanding speakers. The ESS ES9018K2M Sabre 32 digital-to-analog converter imbues the amplifier with reference-level capabilities and outstanding sonic resolution, whichever digital source the user chooses. And apart from the wired digital options, that also includes aptX HD codec support, for the best possible Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

The CXA81 Mk II Integrated Stereo Amplifier joins Cambridge’s recently launched CXN100 Network Player, also a replacement for the acclaimed CXN V2. The brand’s CX Series is rounded out by the CXC Compact Disc Transport.

Cambridge Audio CXA81 Mk II will be available from May 2024, priced at USD $1199 (or the same amount in Euros).
