All arrows are pointing toward Demon Slayer Season 4 right now, and Ufotable has another surprise up its sleeve, with a new special coming for free ahead of the fresh episodes.
The road to Demon Slayer Season 4 kicked off in earnest recent with the new anime movie, Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training. A compilation film, the production merges the last episode of Season 3 with the opener from Season 4, giving us just a taste of what’s coming next for Tanjiro.

The feature gave us some spoilers for Season 4 and those unfamiliar with the manga a better sense of what’s coming in the Hashira Training Arc.
Now, we have another bit supplementary storytelling on the way.
Demon Slayer Season 4 has a free special airing on March 9
It’s been announced that a second preamble for Demon Slayer Season 4 is coming March 9 in Japan. Demon Slayer: Pillar Training Edition airs on ABEMA’s free anime channel.

No further information is available beyond the above graphic. There’s a non-zero chance we get the premiere date, though, since the film is now out and many fans have had their chance to see it. To The Hashira Training has done very well, bringing in strong box office returns both in Japan and the US.

Unsurprising, given Demon Slayer’s position as one of the biggest anime franchises ever. The new season is easily one of the most anticipated this year. Tanjiro finally starts working towards becoming a Hashira, something that might be the greatest test of his life so far – and that’s saying something.
We don’t have any details on when Pillar Training Edition arrives on any English-speaking platforms yet, but we expect something will emerge on Crunchyroll.
