Diablo 4 players mourn removal of Metamorphosis ability as Season 3 kicks off

Diablo 4 players are grieving the loss of a Season 2 feature which many players felt made the Necromancer and Druid classes, more viable.

Diablo 4 has had some crazy meta over the past two seasons since its launch. Each season has brought with it creative, new ways for players to try and make the most game-breaking, damage-dealing builds they possibly can. There was the ball lightning meta, and the twisting blades meta.

But there was one Season 2 ability in the main meta which made life easier for Druid and Necromancer builds. So, it’s not surprising that a good number of players aren’t happy to see it gone from the meta now that Season 3 has arrived.

Metamorphosis, which let players transform into a cloud of bats, was one of the game’s Vampiric Powers. These abilities launched with Diablo 4 Season of Blood. The thing that made Metamorphosis such a hit with Druid and Necromancer players was the enhanced mobility it provided these classes.

In fact, players have been worried about the loss of Metamorphosis since last year.

The loss of Metamorphosis hurts the Necromancer class especially, which used it previously as a way to easily lower their cooldowns or proc skills, like their Lidless Wall.

“Was such a great skill…. I didn’t even have BiS and it was still real nice.” One player lamented.

“This would be a good “talent” they could add to the necro skill tree as it fits most in line with his character,” said another.

The new Season of the Construct puts the focus on traps.

“Let’s hope for a new ring, aspect, or something similar to bring it back in some shape or form,” a third user chimed in.

Now that blood is out and bolts are in, it remains to be seen how Necromancers and Druids will fare throughout Season of the Construct.
