NZXT Gets Into Audio With Relay Speakers And Subs

Powered Speakers From An Unexpected Source

The Guru of 3D have two surprises for you, in the form of the NZXT Relay speakers and subwoofer, along with the revelation that these are not NZXT’s first audio products.  The pair of speakers will run you $250 and provide 40W of audio power over their 76 mm glass fibre woofer and 20 mm silk dome tweeter, with a range of 70 Hz to 20 kHz, and a THD below 1% which is not too shabby. They measure 4.53″ x 6.26″  x 7.32″ and weigh in at 3kg a piece which is a bit big for many desktops but not obnoxiously so.

The subwoofer has a 6.5″ fibre and paper driver with a peak of 140W, offering a range of 45 Hz – 150 kHz, and a THD of < 5%.  It is somewhat larger, at 8.31″ x 12.3″ x 10″ and it weighs a hefty 10.8 lb.  It will run you $150 to add to your setup, via 3.5 mm or RCA inputs.  There are some design choices that Guru3Dwould have preferred were implemented differently, but had no qualms recommending them for their audio quality.

Here’s their full review.
