The first big event of the year is Pokémon Go’s “Lustrous Odyssey” event, which sharply focuses on Rockruff and Dusk Form Lycanroc, which will be available for the first time. The event runs from Jan. 6-10.
In addition to Dusk Form Lycanroc’s debut, there are several other bonuses, including buddy Pokémon bringing gifts and souvenirs more often and your buddy Pokémon being on the map for longer after being fed. The “Timeless Travels” Special Research also got an update with this event.
Evolving Rockruff specifically into Dusk Form Lycanroc is tricky, but you will want to make sure grab as many 2 and 7 km eggs as you can during the event to get a chance for one. Rockruff that comes from these eggs during the event period will have a chance to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc.
